Know the history of Transitex

The Beginning

Founded in Spain, in the city of Badajoz, Transitex’s first objective was to extend the hinterland of the Port of Lisbon, creating competitive logistics solutions that allowed Lisbon to be a valid option and positioned on equal terms with the main Iberian ports.

Expansion in the Iberian Peninsula

Quickly, after successfully fulfilling this first objective, Transitex spread across the Peninsula, where today it has seven commercial offices and two logistics platforms.

Africa and Latin America

In 2007, Mota-Engil’s entry into Transitex’s capital gave a new dynamicto the company, broadening horizons and making internationalization the natural and unavoidable path of Transitex’s future.
Taking historical and cultural factors as a reference, in addition to trade relations in the Iberian market, Transitex’s growth was based mainly on two pillars:

  • Southern Africa;
  • Latin America.

New Expansion

The opening of Transitex China, based in Shanghai, marks the arrival of Transitex to the Asian continent.
At the same time, for the first time Transitex offers an international road transport service with its own fleet in Latin America.

Yilport Group

Transitex is acquired by Yildirim Group of Companies, becoming part of the Yilport Holding. Consequently, the company opens its first office in Turkey, Istanbul.
