By the end of February, Transitex first refrigerated warehouse will be operational.
The new facility comes to complete the services already offered to the fresh fruit business. Known as a fresh transport expert and being the number one consignee in fruit exports from Iberia to Brazil, Transitex is aiming to complement its offer to the cold supply chain. Elvas Logistics Platform, one of Transitex facilities and location of the refrigerated warehouse, is strategically located in the border between Portugal and Spain. Because of that, this location is a starting point for inland distribution. Transitex intention is to offer its clients from the southern hemisphere, such as fruit exporters from Brazil, Argentina or South Africa, sea freight to Portugal’s Atlantic ports, cold storage and customs clearance in Elvas and finally, distribution to final destination in the Spanish market.
Elvas Refrigerated Warehouse is also able to answer Portuguese and Spanish exporters necessities. It is certified as an exports warehouse and able to emit the necessary documentation for the exporting process. Providing this service integrated with the already existing transport services, results in a more competitive offer to exporters, lessening the logistics costs of their products.
